Giving Back

Being of service is a great way to get out of your head—to quiet that noise that can often lead to destructive behaviors. Volunteering allows us to give freely of our time and resources and make a difference. Often we volunteer to help those less fortunate than ourselves, yet there are some other pretty amazing benefits that seem to sneak up on us. We may notice a subtle shift in our demeanor, we feel more connected to others, we smile easier, the feelings of loneliness disappear, we develop confidence, make new friends and may even get in a good workout if the volunteer opportunity is a physical one.
